Upcoming Board of Supervisors Meeting in Tahoe

The Placer County Board of Supervisors will be meeting at 9am on Tuesday, October 27 at the North Tahoe Event Center in Kings Beach. There are many topics of interest within Eastern Placer County.

Tahoe Related Agenda Items:

  • Commendation of Larry Sevison | The Board is recognizing Larry’s legacy of service to the North Lake Tahoe Community as the County’s representative on the Tahoe Regional Planning Agency and the California Tahoe Conservancy.
  • Public Road Name Change | My office and the Engineering and Surveying Division of Community Development Resource Agency received several requests from community members over this past summer asking that Placer County change the name of Coon Street to “Raccoon Street”. This item will be heard by the Board of Supervisors for consideration. Read More
  • Resort Triangle Transportation Plan Update | Placer County is developing a comprehensive transportation plan for the “Resort Triangle” area. Connecting Interstate 80 and the North Lake Tahoe area of Placer County, the plan will identify strategies to improve mobility, reduce transportation impacts on the environment, address traffic congestion, and enhance transit services and non-motorized travel choices. The board will adopt a resolution to accept the Resort Triangle Transportation Plan and provide direction to staff on implementation strategies. Read More
  • Workforce Housing Preservation Program Update | The WHPP – formally referred to the Housing Indeed Program – is intended to secure County housing stock for the local workforce. The program assists local employers and homebuyers who are in the low, moderate, and achievable income brackets in securing housing near their employment. In exchange for granting the County a deed restriction on the home, the owner will receive a financial incentive that may be used towards a down payment, complete renovations on the home or to meet other needs. If the Board adopts the guidelines for the program, staff will work with local employers, developers and other funding partners to help implement the program. Learn More
  • Capital Projects Advisory Committee Update | The Board of Supervisors will receive a staff presentation outlining the Capital Projects Advisory Committee recommendation to allocate Transient Occupancy Tax (TOT) funds to additional capital projects from the Fiscal Year 2019-20 fall grant cycle and an alternative recommendation from county staff. Learn More
  • CARES Funding – Small Business Assistance Update | The Board will receive an update on the BOS-approved Placer Shares small business grant extension, as well as consider potential future funding. This extension is open to eligible small businesses that did not receive a grant in round one, and closes on Friday, October 23 at 10pm. As of October 21, only 10 Tahoe-based small businesses have applied, so please make sure to take advantage of this unique small business funding opportunity! Learn More & Apply Today
  • Summer Update – Response to Critical Issues in North Lake Tahoe | The Board will receive a presentation from county staff on Placer County’s response to critical issues in North Lake Tahoe during COVID-19 including community and agency coordination, public outreach and engagement, short-term rental permits and enforcement, trash and litter, traffic management and business support efforts.

The board chambers will be open to in-person attendance. To remain in compliance with the state’s public health guidance, the county will limit in-person attendance to just 25% of the room’s capacity and will require 6 feet of social distancing inside and outside chambers. There will be no standing room in chambers. If all seats are occupied, citizens will be asked to wait outside chambers. Due to the reduced capacity we ask that citizens only be in chambers during the item they wish to participate on and then leave to allow others to participate in chambers. The entire meeting will be available on livestream and will also be broadcast outside the building. For those not in attendance Public Comment for the Board Meeting will be offered virtually through Zoom. Public Comment will be opened for each agenda item, and citizens may comment virtually through a Zoom meeting webinar utilizing the “raise hand” function for Public Comment.

Please don’t hesitate to contact my office if you have questions or need any assistance with County issues or concerns.

– Cindy Gustafson, District 5 Supervisor
