Veterans Day Community Events
AUBURN VETERANS DAY PARADE, COMMUNITY CEREMONY & LUNCHEON
Come join the celebration, come join the salute! The Parade will begin at 10:50 am at the corner of Lincoln Way and Cleveland Ave. and will proceed down Lincoln Way. The parade will pause at the Central Square at 11 am. There will be a brief patriotic ceremony with the release of doves, followed by a fly-over (weather permitting), and a three-volley rifle salute followed by TAPS. The parade will resume on High Street and end at the Gold Country Fairgrounds. LEARN MORE
FREE LUNCH TO ALL VETERANS
The American Legion Post 192 and Pizza Factory want to welcome any local Vets and their immediate family to enjoy pizza lunch for free on Veterans Day, Thursday, November 11 from 11am-1pm. Come in and enjoy lunch on them and share your stories, some of which have never heard them before. LEARN MORE

Co-hosted by the American Legion Post 264 and the Glen Edwards VFW Post 3010, and in partnership with the Lincoln Veterans Memorial Coalition, Inc. who is building the monument. ANNUAL MILITARY CARE PACKAGES DONATION DRIVE
In honor of Veterans Day, the Human Resources Department recently hosted its annual Military Care Packages Donation Drive in partnership with Sacramento Blue Star Moms. This year, we deployed 12 donation stations at various county offices from south Placer to North Lake Tahoe, and Team Placer delivered! Thanks to your kindness and generosity several cars were needed to load up the treats for our troops. Their service to our country is immeasurable and your support is greatly appreciated. Our Veteran Services Officer Derrick Oliveira this week gave a presentation to the Board of Supervisors at their meeting in Auburn. Derrick, along with Health and Human Services Assistant Director Gary Geisler, detailed the strong work provided by our Veteran Services Office, connecting veterans and their family members to the benefits they earned.
